Los odonatos de Andalucía (España). Análisis zoogeográfico

Abstract

The Odonata of Andalusia (Spain). Zoogeographical analysis
Sixty four species of Odonata are recorded from Andalusia. Two of them (Onychogomphus costae and Sympetrum flaveolum) had only been cited once during the first haif of the century, and thus, their presence in Spain is confirmed. For the zoogeographical characterization of Andalusian Odonata two systems have been used: the chorological study of European Odonata proposed by St. Quentin (1960) and the grouping system of Iberian Odonata proposed by Ocharan (1988). According to the first system, the fauna of Odonata from Andalusia is fundamentally formed by Occidental Mediterranean, Holomediterranean species, and allochthonous forms from Oriental Mediterranean that come to Europe across North Africa (northwards-thrusting Ethiopian species). According to the second system, the Odonata from Andalusia are basically Ibero-Magrebian, West Mediterranean, Holomediterranean and Ethiopian species.
