Partial migration in Central Iberian populations of Passer hispaniolensis
The population of Spanish Sparrow (Passer hispaniolensis) from central Iberia seems to carry out a partial postnuptial migration, according to age differences in fat accumulation. Adults would seem to make up the bulk of the Iberian migratory flow during the second half of September, and October, probably accounting for a high proportion of the Passer sp. observed crossing over Gibraltar in October.
