Resumen

Morphology of Thymosia guernei (Porifera, Chondrosiidae), first record for the Iberian Peninsula
T. guernei has been related with the Chondrosiidae due for its internal structure and with the keratose Demospongiae for its proteinic skeleton. A complete description of the histological and citological aspects of this species is given. Since the fibers structure is very different from that of the keratosa Demospongiae, this species is regarded as a true Chondrosiidae which agrees with Topsent (1895) and Boury-Esnault & Lopes (1985).
