The digestive glandula of Palaemonetes zariquieyi (Crustacea, Caridae). A morphometric study
Semithin sections of the hepatopancreas of Palaemonetes zariquieyi were studied by light microscopy and scanning electron microscopy in backscattered electron mode. Four different morphological cells types were detected in the epithelial layer: embryonic (E cells), resorptive (R cells), fibrillar (F cells) and blister-like cells (B cells). Morphometric analysis of different parameters of the cellular types shows that B cells have a maximum and minimum cell diameter which are statistically different to the other cellular types.
