Resum

Food approaching level and visual interaction effect between two Pterophyllum scalare schools (Cichlidae)
The effect of visual stimuli between two fish schools (Pterophyllum scalare) and the food approaching behaviour is studied. Three experimental situations have been considered: a) Isolation between fish schools, where the higher fish percentage has been at the botton; b) Partial isolation, with two possible opposite responses (coespecific approaching and food approaching) showing lower food approaching; c) Total visibility, where the two responses have been possible together, and the food approaching has increased. To explain these differences the role of social facilitation has been discussed.
