Abstract

Allornetric study of !he Garden Dormouse, Eliomys quercinus (L.), in the lberian Peninsula and North Morocco
A study on the externa1 and cranial relative size of Eliomys quercinus was carned out on populations from the Iberian Peninsula and north Morocco. This work considers two aspects, the allometnc growth of 245 specimens (young and adult) from the same population (Doñana) through development, and the general allometry of Eliomys based on 186 adult specimens from 11 peninsular localities and one from north Morocco. The cranial growth occurs mainly in the rostral zone and the head seems to grow at a lower speed than the body. The final size of the rostral zone is related to the final body size o£ each population.
