Abstract

Dear readers and contributors,
From the editorial committee of Treballs del Museu de Geologia de Barcelona, we sadly announce the closure of our scientific journal due to the lack of reception of scientific articles for publication.
During the 34 years of the journal's existence, Treballs del Museu de Geologia de Barcelona has been a scientific communication medium dedicated to the dissemination of high-quality research in the field of geology, palaeontology, and related disciplines. We have worked tirelessly to ensure excellence and rigour in the published content, fostering the dissemination of knowledge and the exchange of ideas among scientists worldwide. A total of 127 articles on geology and palaeontology have been published, including systematic reviews, descriptions of new taxa, illustrated catalogues of collections, Earth Science didactics, studies of sites and heritage management, and other descriptive studies in the field of Earth Sciences.
However, in today's competitive world of scientific publishing, inclusion in the Journal of Citation Reports (JCR) has become a determining factor for the visibility and relevance of journals. Despite our efforts to maintain high-quality standards, not being part of this index has led to a gradual decrease in the number of articles received in recent years.
We understand that researchers and academics value the visibility and impact of their work, and not belonging to the JCR has negatively affected our ability to attract significant contributions.
We sincerely thank all those who have supported Treballs del Museu de Geologia de Barcelona over the years, whether by submitting their research, collaborating in the peer-review process, or being loyal readers. Your dedication and contributions have been invaluable to us, and we hope you continue to share your valuable knowledge in other prestigious scientific journals.
While we deeply regret this situation, we also see this stage as an opportunity to explore new ways to promote and disseminate scientific knowledge. We are open to future collaborations and to continue driving research in the field of geology, palaeontology, and related disciplines.
Yours sincerely, The editorial committee of Treballs del Museu de Geologia de Barcelona.
