Resum

The feeding of the Common Frog (Rana perezi, Seoane, 1885) in the Southeast of the Iberian peninsula
The diet of Rana perezi in five localities of Southeast Andalusia (Spain) is analyzed. From 150 frogs captured during the months of March to October from 1987 to 1988, diet samples wereobtained by stomach flushing. From a total of 1,114 preys, 21 orders were identified: the four main categories of prey were Coleoptera (21.4%), Formicidae (19.0%). Diptera (17.0%) andTrichoptera (12.4%). Plant matter and pebbles were found throughout the samples, while Rana skin moults occured in only four contents. Some cases of cannibalism were recorded, as well as the ingestion of fish. Significant correlations exists between the frog and the prey size, and between the width of hard-body prey and the width of the frogs gape.
